A-01

The A-01 is the stereo amplifier of the Disco 2202 stereo music system, made by Tehnoton in Iași [1].

The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) describes the „A-01” („Amplificator stereo”, stereo amplifier) as part of the 2202 „DISCO” stereo music system of Întreprinderea Tehnoton, Iași, among the mono and stereo (hi-fi) audio equipment made in Romania [1]. It gives a maximum output of 2 × 25 W into 4 Ω, an AF band of 40–16,000 Hz, at most 1 % harmonic distortion, inputs for a magnetic pick-up (5 mV / 47 kΩ, minimum sensitivity / input impedance), a piezoelectric pick-up (250 mV / 470 kΩ), a radio receiver (250 mV / 220 kΩ) and a cassette or tape recorder (250 mV / 220 kΩ), a tone-control range at 40 Hz and 16 kHz printed with a blurred figure (±32 or ±52 dB), at most 200 VA, 10 × 44 × 29 cm (height × width × depth) and 12 kg [1].
