Description

The 20DZ6V8…20DZ180 is a series of 20 W Zener diodes made in Romania by IPRS Băneasa, listed in the Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) with nominal Zener voltages of 6.8–180 V and a power dissipation of 20 W, in a DO-5 (F-10M) package [1]. Its codes are in the Variants table; the package drawing is in the Gallery.

The codes are printed „20 DZ 6V8” … „20 DZ 180”. The table gives the Zener voltage VZT (minimum, nominal, maximum), the test current IZT, the differential resistance rZM, the temperature coefficient αVZ and the maximum Zener current IZM [1].

The package drawing also marks the terminals for codes with R: the stud is marked „C / A” and the lead „A (cod fără R) / C (cod cu R)”, i.e. the stud is the cathode for the codes without R and the anode for the codes with R, although the table lists no codes with R [1].

Coded as (IPRS Băneasa code for Zener diodes of 1 W and more, NTR 19036-80) [2]:

Part Meaning
20 dissipated power PR in W (the coding table lists 1, 4, 10 and 20 W)
DZ function: Zener diode
6V8 … 180 nominal stabilization voltage VZT in V (standardized values)

The 1st edition of the Agenda (1983) prints the 20 DZ 8V2 as „20 DZ 8” [3].

The I.P.R.S. Băneasa Full Line Condensed Catalog (1990) lists the 20DZ6V8…20DZ180 (18 codes) among the „20 W @ TC = 25 °C voltage regulator diodes” of its „Zener” section [4]. The catalog values this page did not have (TJM) are under Variants [4]. In this table VZ (min–max) and rZT (max) are given at IZT, and the temperature coefficient in units of 0.0001 1/°C; Ptot = 20 W at TC = 25 °C, TJM 150 °C, DO-5 case [4]. For the 20DZ10 the catalog gives IZM 1800 mA (elsewhere on this page: 1850 mA) [4]. For the 20DZ22 the catalog gives rZT 6.9 Ω (elsewhere on this page: 6.5 Ω) [4]. For the 20DZ27 the catalog gives IZM 665 mA (elsewhere on this page: 670 mA) [4]. For the 20DZ33 the catalog gives IZM 555 mA (elsewhere on this page: 550 mA) [4]. For the 20DZ39 the catalog gives IZT 120 mA; IZM 465 mA (elsewhere on this page: IZT 130 mA; IZM 460 mA) [4]. For the 20DZ68 the catalog gives IZM 265 mA (elsewhere on this page: 270 mA) [4].
