Description
The βSAK215N is a pulse shaper integrated circuit for revolution counters, made by IPRS Băneasa [1].
The I.P.R.S. Băneasa Full Line Condensed Catalog (1990) lists the βSAK215MN, βSAK215VN and βSAK215N, marked as preliminary data: the monolithic circuit has an input trigger, a monostable and an output circuit, and a built-in voltage regulator lets it work over a large supply voltage range; it converts the input pulses into standard (in amplitude and pulse duration) current or voltage output pulses [1]. The βSAK is designed for the revolution counters of cars and for other applications such as frequency-to-current converters; with suitable external circuitry the revolution counter can be adapted to engines with two to eight cylinders, for a nominal 12 V DC supply [1].
The catalog gives an operating temperature of −55…+125 °C (βSAK215MN), −25…+85 °C (βSAK215VN) and 0…+70 °C (βSAK215N), an internal regulator voltage of 7.4…8.2 V, a supply current of at most 12 mA and an output voltage pulse amplitude of 2…2.5 V [1]. Pins (MP-48, top view): 1 GND, 2 input, 3 monostable capacitor, 4 monostable capacitor and resistor, 5 current output pulses, 6 voltage output pulses, 7 internal regulator voltage, 8 internal regulator current output [1]. The typical application (in the Gallery) is the operating circuit of a revolution counter with a full scale of 6000 rpm (two ignition pulses per turn of the crankshaft) at a nominal battery voltage of 12 V [1].
