Description

The βU1014N is a low voltage AM receiver integrated circuit for portable radios, made by IPRS Băneasa [1].

The I.P.R.S. Băneasa Full Line Condensed Catalog (1990) lists the βU1014N as a dedicated circuit for AM portable radio receivers with a typical supply voltage of 1.5 V, made of an RF (IF) amplifier with AGC, an AM demodulator and an audio frequency amplifier with an internal fixed gain (30 dB) [1].

The catalog gives a supply voltage of 1…2 V, a supply current (RL = 100 Ω) of at most 10 mA, an operating frequency of at most 2 MHz, an RF input impedance of at least 300 kΩ, a sensitivity of at most 1 mV (fi = 1 MHz, fm = 1 kHz, m = 30 %, vo3 > 60 mV), a typical AGC efficiency of 30 dB (for 6 dB of nonuniformity at the AF output) and an RF input amplitude of at most 30 mV [1]. Pins (MP-48, top view): 1 AAF input, 2 AAF decoupling / AGC, 3 output AF, 4 V+ decoupling, 5 V+, 6 GND, 7 RF (IF) amplifier decoupling, 8 RF (IF) input [1]. The typical application (a 1.5 V receiver for 150 kHz…2 MHz, with R2 as volume control) is in the Gallery [1].
