SCA-MPP-02

The SCA-MPP-02 is a step-by-step motor drive system made by IPRS Băneasa, in two versions: SCA-MPP-02-A with linear final stages and SCA-MPP-02-B with switching final stages [1].

The I.P.R.S. Băneasa Full Line Condensed Catalog (1990) gives it as preliminary data [1]. It controls and drives step-by-step motors with 4 (2) phases, a maximum couple of 3 Nm, a maximum current per phase of 3 A (SCA-MPP-02-A) or 6 A (SCA-MPP-02-B), a phase resistance of 0.1…10 ohms, a phase inductance of 0.1…10 mH, a step-angle of 0.72…72 degrees and 8 connection wires [1].

For the SCA-MPP-02-A and SCA-MPP-02-B the catalog gives a minimum revolution increment printed „step-angle / 4 (step-angle / 15)”, a maximum rotational speed of 3 rev/s, a minimum rotational speed of 0.003 rev/s (A) and 0.01 rev/s (B), a phase supply voltage of at most ±24 V (A) and ±70 V (B), a logic PCB supply voltage of ±15 V / 300 mA, a phase current and a protection current of at most 3 A (A) and 6 A (B), and a control frequency ratio kf (max) = 2000 [1]. It has a manual command for the angular acceleration of the motor, an external command in frequency and sense (0…10 kHz, 0…15 V) for the acceleration, an external command in current and sense (0…2 mA) for the speed, an external movement inhibition, auto-stop at the extreme positions (sensed by limitators) and a phase current adjustment depending on the motor type [1].

The system has a modular structure and improves the NIM standard: four SCA-MPP-02 systems can be inserted in a NIM type frame, and the dimensions do not exceed 105 × 225 × 270 mm [1].
