Alto

The Alto is a miniature electronic telephone with all its parts in the handset, made by Electromagnetica in Bucharest [1].

The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists the miniature telephones „TOTUL ÎN MICRORECEPTOR” (all in the handset), made by Întreprinderea Electromagnetica, Bucharest: the „SUPERFON” (code RS-76233) and the „ALTO” (code RS-76380); notes say that all the electronic telephones are compatible with all types of telephone exchanges in Romania and that all the push-button telephones store the number dialled, so that a call can be repeated with a single key (for example when the line called is busy) [1]. For the Alto it gives a 48 V ± 4 V supply (through a 2 × 250 Ω bridge) and a ringing voltage of 70 V/25 Hz, a bell level of at least 65 dB at 0.5 m, a time of 1 s ± 5 % for dialling the digit „0”, 4 × 5.8 × 21 cm (height × width × depth) and 800 g [1].
