Description

The RIH-IRIS is an X-band (8–12 GHz) radar for detecting low-flying targets, built and approved as an experimental model at the army research institute ICSITA in answer to the radio-technical troops’ 1978 research theme for a low-altitude radar [1]. It used the IUN-SȚM universal digital moving-target selection installation; its equipment cabin held that installation, a radar monitor and other installations [1]. The text dates the experimental model to 1985, the caption of its photograph to 1984 [1]. The S-band answer to the same theme, the START-1, went into series production [1].
