Description

The CRT 142 is the transmitter-receiver of the microwave radio relay for 1,800 telephone channels (or one TV channel and four sound channels) in the 5.9–8.5 GHz range, made at ICRET to documentation from GTE (Italy) [1]. Production began with the delivery of the Reșița – Semenic line in 1975; in almost ten years ICRET made about 200 of these transmitter-receivers and about 100 CMF 18 modulator-demodulators, which equipped the trunk lines Bucharest – Brașov – Târgu Mureș – Cluj – Timișoara, Oradea – Arad, Bucharest – Pitești, Bucharest – Galați – Iași, Bacău – Suceava and others, for long-distance telephony and the national TV network [1].
