Description

The P 954-04 is a wire-wound resistor with three sections for automotive equipment, made to STR-E 4363/1-84: 0.27 Ω between terminals 1 and 2, 1.2 Ω between 1 and 3 and 3.9 Ω between 1 and 4, rated 40 W, 63 W and 40 W respectively [1]. The maximum surface temperature is 105 °C [1].

The Agenda radioelectronistului names IPEE Electro-Argeș of Curtea de Argeș as the producer of all the resistors in its section on resistors made in Romania [2]. Un secol de electronică în România says that the works, founded in 1972 as ICEP, took over the resistor lines that IPRS Băneasa made under a Thomson-CSF licence: the carbon resistors in 1973 and the wire-wound resistors in 1974 [4].

The book does not explain the code [2]. The resistor is not in the 1st edition (1983) [3].

Rated power: 40 W (1–2), 63 W (1–3), 40 W (1–4); the table gives the largest. Dimensions in mm (fig. 16.23): 70 ± 2 long, 155 ± 20 high, terminals 1…5 [1].
