Description
The RBP 6000-C (fixed) and RBR 6000-C (adjustable, with a sliding tap) are cemented wire-wound power resistors on a tubular body, for general use at high dissipated power [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) prints eleven sizes for both series („RBP(R) 6005C” to „RBP(R) 6250C”), from 5 to 250 W and from 1 Ω to 510 kΩ, and two more fixed types with other terminals, RBP-6020A and RBP-6020E [1].
The Agenda radioelectronistului names IPEE Electro-Argeș of Curtea de Argeș as the producer of all the resistors in its section on resistors made in Romania, in both editions [3][4]. Un secol de electronică în România says that the works, founded in 1972 as ICEP, took over the resistor lines that IPRS Băneasa made under a Thomson-CSF licence: the carbon resistors in 1973 and the wire-wound resistors in 1974 [5].
Coded as [3]:
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| RBP | construction type: fixed wire-wound power resistor (printed „RPB” in the code list) |
| RBR | construction type: adjustable wire-wound power resistor („rezistor bobinat de putere, reglabil”) |
| 6 | package type („tipul capsulei”, 1…6) |
| 005…250 | rated power: 5…250 W |
| C, E, A | constructive variant: terminal types (for the RBP series) |
Fig. 16.16 shows the types RBP-6000-C and RBR-6000-C with solder lugs, RBP-6000-A with flexible leads ending in eyelets and RBP-6000-E with flexible stranded leads [1]. Romanian resistors are generally marked in clear, with the series code, the nominal value (100 = 100 Ω, 1 K = 1 kΩ, 1 M = 1 MΩ), the tolerance and the rated power [3].
The 1st edition (1983) calls the series RBP and RBR and has the same table, with the last code printed „RPB -6020E” [2]. The code RBP(R) 6100C is damaged in the 2nd edition and read with the 1st [1][2].
Dimensions in mm (fig. 16.16): maximum length Lmax, maximum diameter Dmax and minimum bore dmin from the table [1].
