Description

The RBS 1 and RBS 2 are fusible wire-wound resistors in a ceramic body, made to STAS 9288-77, used as power resistors with short-circuit protection in electrical and electronic circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists four codes in each series, RBS 1-3 to RBS 1-10 (3–10 W) and RBS 2-2 to RBS 2-6 (2–6 W), from 0.15 Ω to 33 kΩ, with a maximum surface temperature of 320 °C [1].

The Agenda radioelectronistului names IPEE Electro-Argeș of Curtea de Argeș as the producer of all the resistors in its section on resistors made in Romania [2]. Un secol de electronică în România says that the works, founded in 1972 as ICEP, took over the resistor lines that IPRS Băneasa made under a Thomson-CSF licence: the carbon resistors in 1973 and the wire-wound resistors in 1974 [4].

The letters RBS are not in the book’s code list; the number after the dash is the rated power in watts in the table („RBS 1-5,5” = 5.5 W) [2][1]. They are marked in clear [1]. The series is not in the 1st edition (1983) [3].

Dimensions in mm: RBS 1 (fig. 16.19) and RBS 2 (fig. 16.20), maximum length Lmax from the table; body section 9 × 10 [1].
