Description

The RBT 5000 is a series of wire-wound resistors in a ceramic body, made to STAS 9288-77 for general use, with the leads on one side (RBT 5000-V) or axial (RBT 5000-A) [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists four codes, 10 and 16 W in each version, from 1 Ω to 68 kΩ [1].

The Agenda radioelectronistului names IPEE Electro-Argeș of Curtea de Argeș as the producer of all the resistors in its section on resistors made in Romania, in both editions [3][4]. Un secol de electronică în România says that the works, founded in 1972 as ICEP, took over the resistor lines that IPRS Băneasa made under a Thomson-CSF licence: the carbon resistors in 1973 and the wire-wound resistors in 1974 [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
RBT construction type: wire-wound resistor in a ceramic body
5 package type („tipul capsulei”, 1…6)
010, 016 rated power: 10 and 16 W
-V constructive variant: leads on the same side (vertical mounting)
-A constructive variant: axial leads (horizontal mounting)

Romanian resistors are generally marked in clear, with the series code, the nominal value (100 = 100 Ω, 1 K = 1 kΩ, 1 M = 1 MΩ), the tolerance and the rated power [3].

The 1st edition (1983) calls the series RBT and gives the same table [2].

Dimensions in mm (fig. 16.11): maximum length Lmax from the table; body section 10 ± 0.4, leads Ø 0.8 ± 0.01, at least 30 long [1].
