Description

The PROCESOR 14000 is a kit made by IPRS Băneasa: a programmable system controlled by the βP14500 monolithic processor, meant for the automatic control of industrial processes as a software alternative to logic automata built in wired logic [1]. It had 16 TTL inputs and 16 TTL outputs with memory, easy programming, a program memory of 256 instructions extendable in pages to 1,000–4,000 instructions, and peripherals expandable to 1,024 inputs and 1,024 outputs [1]. With it IPRS competed, on performance for the price, with more complex microprocessor systems; it was the clearest example of IPRS’s effort to reduce the number of component types its customers needed [1].
