Description
The DACE 8336 is a car alarm with an electronic code lock, made by IEI in Bucharest in three versions (DACE 8336-121, DACE 8336-12 S and DACE 8336-24 S) [1].
The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists the „DACE 8336-121, DACE 8336-12 S, DACE 8336-24 S” alarm devices with an electronic code („Dispozitiv de alarmă cu cifru electronic”, Întreprinderea de Electronică Industrială, IEI – Bucharest) among the electronic devices for cars [1]. It says that the alarm starts when the doors, the bonnet or the boot lid are opened, or when the windscreen or the rear window is removed, after a pre-alarm time of 8 ± 2 s in which the driver can stop it by entering a code; the three digits of the code are chosen with three of the eight keys of a keypad (336 arrangements without repetition of 8 digits taken 3 at a time); the device switches on the horn and headlights for 1 minute and then returns to standby (at most 25 mA) until the sensors (doors, bonnet and so on) are triggered again [1].
