Description
The AMPA 300 is a digital blood pressure meter made by IAEM Timișoara [1].
The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists the „AMPA 300” blood pressure meter („Aparat pentru măsurarea presiunii arteriale”, I.A.E.M. – Timișoara) among the medical electronic devices made in Romania [1]. It says that it measures blood pressure by the Korotkov (Riva-Rocci) method and shows the result digitally in mm Hg or kPa, as chosen, and gives a maximum measured pressure of 300 mm Hg (40 kPa), a measuring error of ±4 mm Hg (±0.5 kPa) at 23 °C, an operating temperature range of +10…+45 °C, an internal 4.5 V supply (three R-6 batteries) or an external 220 V, 50 Hz one through an adapter giving 3.5…6 V DC, a maximum consumption of 0.6 W (at 4.5 V), 5.5 × 11 × 20 cm (height × width × depth) and 850 g [1].
