Description
The Delta 01 is a digital voice and data terminal, a field telephone using delta modulation, made by Electromagnetica in Bucharest [1]. It was the first digital field telephone with delta modulation, designed and made by Electromagnetica’s Special Production Factory with specialists from ICSITA, for the army’s nationwide fixed digital telephone network; tests confirmed that it met NATO standards, and it can transmit data and encrypt calls with a built-in device [1].
It was approved and taken into service: the first telephone with delta modulation made in Romania and the only Romanian-designed product for encrypted voice and data communication of the army, used on its fixed digital ‘Delta network’ [2].
