Description

The TS-603 is a manual field telephone exchange for secure links, designed by ICSITA, made by Electromagnetica in Bucharest [1]. It was the first field exchange for encrypted telephone links [1].

Derived from the F-1641, it switched only four-wire long-distance links, refused the operator’s attempts to listen in and signalled them optically and acoustically; a prototype version was installed at the Ministry of Defence [2].
