MADS-STAR-ST

The MADS-STAR-ST is a mains power consumption monitoring system for the plant transformer level or the next higher one (up to county / district level), made by IPRS Băneasa [1].

The I.P.R.S. Băneasa Full Line Condensed Catalog (1990) says that it was built around MADS computer modules developed by Microelectronica [1]. It processes the data from pulse-generator meters and/or pulse-generator adders; for every measuring point, and for groups of measuring points, it computes the momentary power (the average power over a very short time interval) and the average power per 15 minutes [1]. On request, it transmits to the hierarchic level, for every measuring point or group of points, the index, the average power per 15 minutes, the momentary power, the mains frequency, the local time and the measuring point identifier; the higher level can program, for every measuring point or group, the index and the exact time, and the system computer is operated from a console [1].

The catalog gives a power supply of 220 Vdc, 110 Vdc, 48 Vdc or 220 Vac, protection grade IP 41, an operating temperature range of 0…+45 °C, a transport temperature range of −25…+55 °C, a storage temperature range of +5…+35 °C, a relative humidity of 40…80 % in operation (with the warning: no condensation), at most 95 % at +30 °C during transport and at most 85 % at 20 °C during storage, a weight of 200 kg and dimensions of 550 × 1010 × 1680 mm [1].
