History

Microelectronica, on the Băneasa platform in Bucharest next to IPRS, was created to bring the newest technologies for active electronic components to Romania; it began its activity in the early 1980s [1][2].

It produced PMOS, NMOS and CMOS integrated circuits, including 4000-series logic, as well as optoelectronic devices. Notable products are the MMN8080, a clone of the Intel 8080, and the MMN80CPU, a Zilog Z80 clone produced from 1988 [2]. Commercial operation ceased in 1997 [2].

In 1989

In 1989 Microelectronica was one of the enterprises of the Industrial Central for Electronics and Computer Technology (CIETC) of the Ministry of the Electrotechnical Industry [3].
