Description

The SG-R6 is a single-axis magnetic variometer built at IFA for the Institute of Atmospheric Physics in Prague, with a sensor from VNIIM in Leningrad, for measuring magnetic fluctuations in the 0.1–20 Hz band with a range of ±156 nT (the book gives a resolution of 50 nT) [1]. Together with the SG-R7 triaxial magnetometer from Iași it flew on the Czech subsatellites MAGION-2 (launched in 1989, carried by the IK-24 AKTIVE satellite) and MAGION-3 (1991), whose limits were 760 g and 0.93 W [1].
