Description
The CIP104A is a personal radiation alarm made at FAN [1]. It is housed in a small plastic box of 23 × 59 × 93 mm weighing at most 140 g, runs on batteries for 300 hours at natural background, and is sensitive to gamma and hard beta radiation above 0.5 MeV [1]. It chirps according to the dose rate, starting from the natural background (0.02 mR/h) – hence the name CIP, from the sound; the CIP104AS version only sounds above 10 mR/h [1].
