E5001

The E5001 is a programmable low-frequency generator made by IEMI in Bucharest [1].

The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists the „E-5001” („Generator de joasă frecvență programabil”, programmable low-frequency generator) among the generators of the E-05 group made by IEMI; a note says that it measures and shows the frequency (5 digits) and the level (3 digits) of the generated signals and allows linear or logarithmic frequency sweeps [1]. Its table gives for sine waves a range of 1 Hz…1 MHz, a long-term drift of ≤ 5·10⁻⁵ per 7 hours, a short-term drift of ≤ 5·10⁻⁵ per 15 minutes, a maximum open-circuit output of 10⁻⁴…10 V rms and an output impedance of 600 (50; 5) Ω; for square waves a maximum open-circuit output of 10⁻⁴…5 Vpp and an output impedance of 600 (50; 5) Ω; a 220 V supply, at most 50 VA, 15 × 47 × 29 cm (height × width × depth) and at most 8 kg [1].

The upper limit of its square-wave range is printed „1…10” with an exponent that cannot be read with certainty (3 or 8), so it is left out [1].
