Description

The 2 × 15 W stereo amplifier is a fully transistorised amplifier made by Electronica in Bucharest from the early 1970s, supplied only in a cabinet, with four inputs: piezo pick-up, magnetic pick-up, radio and tape recorder [1]. Its output stages have a stabilised supply that cuts out on overload and recovers automatically, and are protected against short circuits [1]. A smaller model was the 2 × 6 W amplifier [1].

Early in the 1970s Electronica put into production two fully transistorised stereo amplifiers for the general public, of 2 × 6 W and 2 × 15 W; both have volume, separate bass and treble and balance controls, a mains indicator lamp, and front push-buttons for stereo, mono left, mono right or mono on both channels [1]. Over the years they were made in improved versions [1].

In the source, output power is given per channel at 1000 Hz into 5 Ω, the frequency response within 3 dB, and distortion at rated power over 70–10,000 Hz [1].
