Description
The Diplomat 6 is a simultaneous translation installation made for the Hotel București, made in the microproduction workshop of the ICE research institute in Bucharest, where it was designed [1]. Built in 1984–1985, it used an induction loop for translation from six languages in large conference halls, and was installed at the Hotel București [2]. The radio networks laboratory also lists a simultaneous translation system for six languages [3].
ICE’s short-wave professional radio communications laboratory took over in 1966 the staff and work of Electronica in this field; it designed radio stations, first-class receivers and accessories such as antennas and relays, mainly for the army, with civilian versions for the oil and forestry industries, building sites and agriculture; they were made at IEMI and IEI [1].
