Description
The Stereoson 1 is a stereo music centre made by Electronica in Bucharest from 1983: an AM-FM stereo receiver with two wavebands (MW, SW), a cassette recorder and a stereo record player [1]. Its improved successor was the Stereoson 2 [1].
Stereoson 1, launched in 1983, was the first of a line of increasingly refined stereo music centres; in 1988 Electronica put into production a new generation of higher-quality stereo music centres with four wavebands (LW, MW, SW, FM), higher output power and better record-player and cassette mechanisms [1]. The works also developed its own quiet, high-performance cassette and record-player mechanisms, which ended its dependence on imports for fully integrated radio-cassette recorders; the same cassette mechanisms equipped the cassette recorders supplied with Romanian personal computers [1].
