Description
The R 6101 is a portable SSB radiotelephone, made in the microproduction workshop of the ICE research institute in Bucharest, where it was designed [1]. It gave links of up to 20 km with a whip antenna, more with an inclined wire or dipole, for forestry, gas and oil pipelines, power lines, agriculture and geological surveys; the transmitter generated the lower sideband at 456.5 kHz with a balanced modulator and a mechanical filter shared with the receiver, which had automatic gain control [1].
