Description
The R 8243 is a portable radiotelephone with hybrid circuits, made by IEMI in Bucharest [1]. It was made after 1985 [1]. IEMI made radiotelephones under a licence bought in 1968 from the Swedish firm SRA (Svenska Radio Aktiebolaget), later modernised by IEMI itself; they were used in industry, on the railways, in rescue services, agriculture, transport, construction, by the police and the fire brigade [1].
IEMI’s 20th-anniversary symposium in 1988 included a paper on this portable radiotelephone with hybrid circuits, listed there as R 8423 [2].
Annex III.2.15 gives 146–174 MHz, 1.5 W (0.5–1.5 W in its summary table), a sensitivity of 0.4 µV and four simplex or semi-duplex channels [3].
