Description

The Hermes 2700 is a radio paging system with selective calling, for finding people in hospitals, institutions, building sites, hotels or shopping centres, made in the microproduction workshop of the ICE research institute in Bucharest, where it was designed [1]. It comprised the DH 2700 central unit, which formed two-tone sequential call codes for 90 receivers (sent eight times in 6 s), the EH 2700 AM transmitter on one channel in 26.965–27.265 MHz (more than 8 W carrier), the AH 2700 ground-plane antenna and the pocket RH 2700 receivers, powered by AA cells [1]. It could call 89 people individually and 18 groups, over 1–5 km depending on the terrain [1].
