Description

The CG 32.00 is a series of type I ceramic plate capacitors with radial leads, rated 63 V DC, made to STAS 9521-74 for radio-frequency circuits of general or professional use [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) gives two groups, CGP and CGU, with eight rows and 10–1000 pF [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the ceramic capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1973 [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
CGP the same, (−150 … 100)·10⁻⁶/°C
CGU the same, (−750 … 250)·10⁻⁶/°C
32 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
06…15 package code („codul capsulei”)

Marked in clear, the code is followed by the nominal capacitance and the tolerance; the book’s example is „CGA 12.06 — 4,7 ± 0,5” (4.7 pF, tolerance 0.5 pF or %) [3].

In colour code, fig. 20.50 (type I ceramic) shows five marks, a to e, and fig. 20.51 (type II) three marks, a, b and c, the last labelled „Dielectric sau toleranța” (dielectric or tolerance); the book’s colour table [3]:

Colour a: temperature coefficient (10⁻⁶/°C) b, c: digits d: multiplier e: tolerance, C > 10 pF e: tolerance, C ≤ 10 pF
black 0 0 1 ±20 % –
brown −33 1 10 ±1 % –
red −75 2 10² ±2 % ±0.25 pF
orange −150 3 10³ ±3 % –
yellow −220 4 10⁴ – –
green −330 5 – ±5 % ±0.5 pF
blue −470 6 – – –
violet −750 7 – – –
grey – 8 10⁻² – –
white – 9 10⁻¹ ±10 % ±1 pF
gold +100 – – – –

The codes ending in .06 are new in the 2nd edition; for CGU 32.06 it prints only the capacitance and the tolerance [1][2]. The 1st edition gives other ranges for CGP 32.10 and CGU 32.10–32.15, a βT tolerance of ±100 for CGP (2nd edition: ±60) and the table tolerances ±5 %/±10 % (2nd edition adds ±20 %; the list of characteristics gives ±5 % and ±10 % in both) [1][2].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.53): side L (± 1, ± 2 for 15 mm) and lead spacing d from the table; thickness max. 3; leads Ø 0.6, at least 30 mm long [1].
