Description

The CTS-N is a series of non-polarised solid-electrolyte tantalum capacitors with axial leads, rated 10 V DC, made to CEI 325 for general use at low frequencies and low voltages in professional circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) gives no codes for it, only five case sizes, A to E, with 4.7–150 µF; the page lists one row per case size [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa.

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
CTS solid-electrolyte tantalum capacitor („condensator cu tantal, cu electrolit solid”)
N construction variant: non-polarised („nepolarizat”)

The book gives no technological family or package code for this series [1].

The capacitors are marked in clear; the book’s example „CTS—M 20.05—33/6,3” gives the code, the nominal capacitance (33 µF) and the rated voltage (6.3 V) [3].

The 2nd edition prints the rated voltage as „10 V_ce” (1st edition: Vcc) and the tolerance with a smudged 2; the 1st edition has the same values [1][2].

Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.49): length L, diameter D and lead diameter d from the table; the body has a groove of radius R = 0.8 (sizes A, B) or 1.5 (C, D, E); leads 35 ± 5 mm long on each side [1].
