Description

The CTS-T 30.00 is a series of tubular solid-electrolyte tantalum capacitors with axial leads, for general use at low frequency in professional circuits, made to CEI 361, 361 C, 325 and NID 3412-79 [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists 77 codes, CTS-T 30.01 to CTS-T 30.77, with 1–330 µF at 6.3–63 V, each in one of five case sizes, which the book says are the same as those of the CTS-M 20.00; the dimensions of this page come from that table [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa.

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
CTS solid-electrolyte tantalum capacitor („condensator cu tantal, cu electrolit solid”)
T construction variant: tubular type („tip tubular”)
30 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
01…77 package code („codul capsulei”)

The capacitors are marked in clear; the book’s example „CTS—M 20.05—33/6,3” gives the code, the nominal capacitance (33 µF) and the rated voltage (6.3 V) [3].

Printed so in both editions: the code of the 15 µF, 6.3 V capacitor reads „20.03” (by its place in the table it is CTS-T 30.03), the 35 V row of CTS-T 30.56 has 20 µF, and CTS-T 30.77 (330 µF, 10 V) comes after CTS-T 30.23 [1][2]. The 2nd edition gives the leakage current with „<”, the 1st with „≤”; in the 1st edition the code CTS-T 30.04 has a broken digit and reads „30.01” [1][2].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.48 and the case sizes of CTS-M 20.00): diameter D, length L, lead diameter d and the hole spacing L′ on the board; leads 35 ± 5 mm long [1].
