Description
The EG 31.00 is a series of high-capacitance aluminium electrolytic capacitors, single or double (two identical sections), with tag terminals, made to STAS 7675-73 for filtering in medium- or high-voltage rectifiers; the common cathode is connected to the aluminium tube, which has its own terminal [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists 11 package codes, EG 31.27 to EG 31.70, with 4.7–1000 µF at 25–450 V; values written „(a + b)” are double capacitors [1]. The peak voltage is 1.15 Un (Un ≤ 100 V), 1.1 Un (Un > 100 V) [1].
The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that IPRS made seven types of electrolytic capacitors, from 1 µF to 10,000 µF and from 3 V to 450 V [5].
Coded as [3]:
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| EG | construction type: electrolytic capacitor (of high capacitance) |
| 31 | technological family („familia tehnologică”) |
| 27…70 | package code („codul capsulei”) |
The capacitors are marked in clear; the book’s example „EG 52.43—22/16” gives the code, the nominal capacitance (22 µF) and the rated voltage (16 V) [3].
In the 2nd edition the code EG 31.27 is damaged („EG 31.:7”) and the tag length of EG 31.33 reads like „22/35”; the code and the „22/33” are read from the 1st edition [1][2]. The 1st edition prints the tolerance line twice [2].
Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.42): D ± 0.5, L ± 1 and the tag length l from the table; the double version has two tags 13 mm apart at one end [1].
