Description

The EG 35.00 and EG 45.00 are series of aluminium electrolytic capacitors whose leads allow mounting on a printed circuit horizontally (EG 35.00) or vertically (EG 45.00), made to STAS 7675-73 for filtering in low- and medium-voltage rectifiers [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists three codes, EG 35.52, EG 35.33 and EG 45.58, with 4.7–1000 µF at 25–450 V [1]. The peak voltage is 1.15 Un (Un ≤ 100 V), 1.1 Un (Un > 100 V) [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that IPRS made seven types of electrolytic capacitors, from 1 µF to 10,000 µF and from 3 V to 450 V [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
EG construction type: electrolytic capacitor (of high capacitance)
35, 45 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
52, 33, 58 package code („codul capsulei”)

The capacitors are marked in clear; the book’s example „EG 52.43—22/16” gives the code, the nominal capacitance (22 µF) and the rated voltage (16 V) [3].

For EG 35.52 and EG 35.33 the table gives several diameters and lengths in one cell, without saying which belongs to which value; the page lists the largest, with the printed values in the notes [1]. The leakage current threshold is CnUn = 100 (EG 11.00 and EG 31.00: 1000), printed „> 100 V” in the 2nd edition [1][2]. In drawing a the longer lead is 39 mm in the 2nd edition and 35 mm in the 1st [1][2].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.43): a) D ± 0.5, L ± 1, leads 20 and 39 mm; b) D ± 0.2, maximum length L, leads 20 and 35 mm long, 12.5 mm apart [1].
