Description

The MC 32.00 is a series of encapsulated type I multilayer ceramic „chip” capacitors with radial leads, for miniaturised professional circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists five package codes, MC 32.02 to MC 32.06, from 3.3 pF to 27 nF, at 25, 50, 100 and 200 V DC [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the ceramic capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1973 [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
MC multilayer „chip” capacitor, type I, encapsulated
32 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
02…06 package code („codul capsulei”)

The 1st edition (1983) differs in many values: other capacitances (largest in µF) and dimensions, a larger code, MC 32.07, a dissipation factor of ≤ 15·10⁻⁴, the climatic category 50/125/56 and a rated voltage „20 Vcc” in the text (25 V in the table) [2]. The drawing of the 2nd edition labels the top dimension Hmax, that of the 1st edition Lmax [1][2].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.59): maximum length Lmax, maximum height Hmax and lead spacing S ± 1 from the table; leads at least 20 mm long; the coating may run 2 mm down the leads [1].
