Description

The MZ 32.00 is a series of encapsulated type II multilayer ceramic „chip” capacitors with radial leads, for general-purpose miniaturised circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists five package codes, MZ 32.02 to MZ 32.06, from 100 pF to 1500 nF, at 25, 50, 100 and 200 V DC; it gives no dissipation factor [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the ceramic capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1973 [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
MZ multilayer „chip” capacitor, type II, encapsulated
32 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
02…06 package code („codul capsulei”)

The 2nd edition prints the tolerances „± 5 %; + 10 %; + 20 %” and the lead spacing of MZ 32.06 „5,0З”; the 1st edition (1983) has other capacitances (largest in µF) and dimensions and a larger code, MZ 32.07 [1][2].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.60): maximum length Lmax, maximum height Hmax and lead spacing S ± 1 from the table; leads at least 20 mm long; the coating may run 2 mm down the leads [1].
