Description
The PMP 08.00 is a series of metallised polyester capacitors in a rectangular case with rounded corners and two radial leads 10 mm apart, made to STAS 9085-71 for general use [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists two package codes, PMP 08.01 and PMP 08.02, with 0.01–0.22 µF at 100–500 V [1].
The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the metallised polyester capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1982 [5].
Coded as [3]:
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| PMP | construction type (structure, dielectric, terminals): metallised polyester capacitor |
| 08 | technological family („familia tehnologică”) |
| 01, 02 | package code („codul capsulei”) |
The capacitors are marked in clear; the book’s example „PMP 09.02 — 0,047/400” gives the code, the nominal capacitance in µF and the rated voltage in V [3].
The lower limit of PMP 08.01 at 100 V, 0.068 µF, is taken from the 1st edition [2]; its last digit is worn in the 2nd [1]. For PMP 08.01 at 400 V the 2nd edition gives a thickness P of 6.5 mm (5.5 mm in the other rows of the package and in the 1st edition); it is kept as printed [1][2]. The condition of the dissipation factor is printed „Cc ≤ 1 µF” in the 2nd edition and „Cn ≤ 1 µF” in the 1st [1][2].
Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.19): length L, height H and thickness P, each ± 0.5; leads Ø 0.8, 10 mm apart, at least 38 mm long [1].
