Description
The PS 00.10 is a series of polystyrene capacitors in a cylindrical case with axial leads, made to STAS 9067-71 for general use and professional circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists five package codes, PS 00.11 to PS 00.15, with 47–100000 pF at 25–1000 V, and the category voltage Uc of each row [1].
The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the polystyrene capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1980 [5].
Coded as [3]:
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| PS | construction type (structure, dielectric, terminals): PS (PSC) – polystyrene capacitor with axial leads (or leads for printed-circuit mounting) |
| 00 | technological family („familia tehnologică”) |
| 11…15 | package code („codul capsulei”) |
The nominal capacitance and the tolerance are marked in clear, the rated voltage by a colour on the end next to the lead connected to the outer electrode: 25 V blue, 63 V yellow, 160 V red, 250 V green, 630 V black, 1000 V black and in clear [3]. The 2nd edition repeats the colour list in the section of the series; the 1st edition gives it only in the codification subsection [1][2].
Some cells are printed oddly and kept as printed: for PS 00.13 at 63 V the range reads „2.001 … 1.000” pF (1st edition: 2.001…10.000), the first PS 00.13 row at 630 V has Uc = 500 V (550 V in the 1st edition and in the other 630 V rows), PS 00.15 at 160 V starts at 15.000 pF (1st edition: 15.001), and PS 00.15 at 1000 V has a maximum diameter of 32 mm, as long as the body, in both editions [1][2]. The 2nd edition heads the rated-voltage column „Uc [Vcc]” (1st edition: Un) and spells the heading „terminare axiale” [1][2].
Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.24): length L ± 2, maximum diameter Dmax, minimum lead length lmin and lead diameter ø from the table [1].
