Description

The PS 06.10 is a series of polystyrene capacitors in a cylindrical case with axial leads, for general use and professional circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists five package codes, PS 06.11 to PS 06.15, with 47–25000 pF at 160–1000 V, and the category voltage Uc of each row; it names no STAS standard [1].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the polystyrene capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1980 [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
PS construction type (structure, dielectric, terminals): PS (PSC) – polystyrene capacitor with axial leads (or leads for printed-circuit mounting)
06 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
11…15 package code („codul capsulei”)

The nominal capacitance and the tolerance are marked in clear, the rated voltage by a colour on the end next to the lead connected to the outer electrode: 25 V blue, 63 V yellow, 160 V red, 250 V green, 630 V black, 1000 V black and in clear [3].

The 15000 pF, 1000 V row of PS 06.15 is new in the 2nd edition; for PS 06.15 at 630 V the 1st edition gives 10.000…25.000 pF [1][2]. The 2nd edition heads the category-voltage column „Un [V]” (1st edition: Uc) [1][2].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.26): length L ± 3, maximum diameter Dmax, minimum lead length lmin and lead diameter ø from the table [1].
