Description
The PS 06.20 is a series of polystyrene capacitors with both leads on one end, for printed-circuit mounting („terminale de implantare”), made to STAS 9067-71 for general use and professional circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) lists three package codes, PS 06.23 to PS 06.25, with 1201–25000 pF at 160 V and 630 V, and the category voltage Uc of each row [1].
The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the polystyrene capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1980 [5].
Coded as [3]:
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| PS | construction type (structure, dielectric, terminals): PS (PSC) – polystyrene capacitor with axial leads (or leads for printed-circuit mounting) |
| 06 | technological family („familia tehnologică”) |
| 23…25 | package code („codul capsulei”) |
The nominal capacitance and the tolerance are marked in clear, the rated voltage by a colour on the end next to the lead connected to the outer electrode: 25 V blue, 63 V yellow, 160 V red, 250 V green, 630 V black, 1000 V black and in clear [3].
The 1st edition has the same table, but gives the length tolerance as ± 2 mm (2nd edition: ± 3) [1][2].
Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.27): length L ± 3, maximum diameter Dmax, minimum lead length lmin and lead diameter ø from the table [1].
