Description

The PSC 00.11 is a polystyrene capacitor with rounded ends and axial leads, made to STAS 9067-71 for general use and professional circuits [1]. The Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) gives it at 63 V (100–2200 pF), 160 V (47–1500 pF) and 630 V (47–1000 pF), each with its category voltage Uc and a range for the diameter D; the 1st edition (1983) has the same data [1][2].

The Agenda does not say which works made the series: for the whole section on capacitors made in Romania it lists IPEE Electroargeș of Curtea de Argeș, Tehnoton of Iași, IIS Electronica of Bucharest and IPRS Băneasa as producers, and the 1st edition (1983) names only the first three [3][4]. It is listed here as made by IPRS Băneasa; Un secol de electronică în România says that the polystyrene capacitor line of IPRS passed to IPEE Curtea de Argeș in 1980 [5].

Coded as [3]:

Part Meaning
PSC construction type (structure, dielectric, terminals): PS (PSC) – polystyrene capacitor with axial leads (or leads for printed-circuit mounting)
00 technological family („familia tehnologică”)
11 package code („codul capsulei”)

The nominal capacitance and the tolerance are marked in clear and the rated voltage in code; by the code of subsection 2.1 the rated voltage of polystyrene capacitors is marked by a colour on the end next to the lead connected to the outer electrode (25 V blue, 63 V yellow, 160 V red, 250 V green, 630 V black, 1000 V black and in clear) [3].

Both editions print the climatic category as „10/070/73” [1][2]. In the 2nd edition some digits of the 160 V and 630 V rows are heavily inked or smudged; they are read with the help of the 1st edition [1][2]. The table gives D as a range; the page lists the maximum, with the printed range in the notes [1].

Rated voltages are DC („Vcc”). Dimensions in mm (fig. 20.28): length L, diameter D (range) and lead diameter ø from the table [1].
