Description
The βP1000 is an uncommitted silicon array (UNICIP) of IPRS Băneasa for logic integrated circuits; its linear counterpart was the UNICIP βU [1]. In 1985 IPRS developed the I2L technology and created and had approved two UNICIP structures, the βU for linear circuits and the βP 1000 for logic circuits: silicon arrays with integrated but unconnected components, stored without metallisation until a customer’s design arrived; finishing a circuit meant drawing the metallisation on the array’s charts, much like designing a single-sided printed circuit [1]. The UNICIPs shortened the response to customers and increased standardisation; IPRS built successful automotive applications and varied professional ones on them [1]. The text writes it βP 1000, while the chapter’s bibliography cites a 1985 Beta article titled „βU1000” [1].
