Description

The TBA790 is a series of audio amplifiers (2.5 W), analog integrated circuits listed in the Agenda radioelectronistului (2nd edition, 1989) among the integrated circuits made in Romania by IPRS Băneasa, in „TABS T (D, S, V)” and plastic 14 (with internal heat sink or with „horns”) packages [1]. Its codes (TBA790T, TBA790AT, TBA790D, TBA790AD, TBA790S, TBA790AS, TBA790U, TBA790AU and TBA790K) are in the Variants table; the pinout is in the Gallery.

The code is printed „TBA 790 (T, AT, D, AD, S, AS, U, AU, K)” [1].

Coded as (Pro Electron system) [2]:

Part Meaning
T analog circuit
B serial letter (no meaning, except H = hybrid circuit)
A temperature range not defined
790 serial number
T, AT, D, AD, S, AS, U, AU, K letters added to the code: a single letter may also mark a constructional variant, without a precise meaning

TBA790K

The TBA790K is a 2 W power integrated circuit for radio and television, one of the linear circuits IPRS Băneasa obtained through the Thomson-CSF licence, together with the TAA661 and TAA550 [3]. Integrated circuit production in Romania began with the licence bought from Thomson-CSF, negotiated at the level of heads of state during the visit of the French president Charles de Gaulle in May 1968 [3].
