Description
The P 22946-000 is a subminiature circular loudspeaker made by Electronica in Bucharest [1]. It was used in pocket radio telephones, headphones and toys, and can also work as a microphone [1].
From 1955 the loudspeakers of all Romanian radios and television sets were made in Bucharest, first at Radio Popular and then at Electronica – more than 20 million in all [1]. In 1955 there was a single type, a 130 mm circular loudspeaker of 2.5 VA; by 1989 the range had 18 circular, 11 elliptical and 28 outdoor types [1]. The early Alnico and Ticonal magnets were later replaced by ferrite magnets, made first at Electronica and then at Ferite Urziceni, and membrane technology improved after a Philips licence was bought in 1968 [1].
