Description
The R 20472 is a dome tweeter made by Electronica in Bucharest, also in a type A [1]. It works only in speaker enclosures, with a capacitor in series and an inductance in parallel [1].
Electronica made 14 type variants of power loudspeakers for speaker enclosures, with powers and fixing systems adapted to customers’ needs: R 20472 and R 20472A, R 20166 A and B, R 31233 and R 31233A, R 20505 and R 20505A, R 20450 and R 20450A, R 23052-020 and R 23052-040 [1].
From 1955 the loudspeakers of all Romanian radios and television sets were made in Bucharest, first at Radio Popular and then at Electronica – more than 20 million in all [1]. In 1955 there was a single type, a 130 mm circular loudspeaker of 2.5 VA; by 1989 the range had 18 circular, 11 elliptical and 28 outdoor types [1]. The early Alnico and Ticonal magnets were later replaced by ferrite magnets, made first at Electronica and then at Ferite Urziceni, and membrane technology improved after a Philips licence was bought in 1968 [1].
