Description

The Electron 1 is an educational electronic kit made by Electronica in Bucharest, meant to develop interest in radio-amateur skills [1]. It allows four circuits to be built without soldering, on four perforated cards mounted on a fibreboard base, each printed with its assembly layout: a tone generator with a key for learning Morse code, an audio amplifier (for records, a microphone, or – by inductive coupling – listening to telephone calls), a flashing warning lamp, and a reflex direct-amplification radio receiver [1]. The parts could also be used in the kits planned to follow, and other electronic kits were made later [1].

The radio should receive stations within 50 km without an outdoor antenna, audible at 2 m from the loudspeaker; the amplifier should be audible at up to 2 m in a room [1].
