Description
The Albatros S 681 T is a portable transistor radio for long, medium and two short-wave bands, made by Electronica in Bucharest [1]. In 1967 Electronica put into production the Albatros, a portable of its own design with an improved circuit compared with the Mamaia family, made necessary because in 1966 the FM transmitters did not yet cover the whole country; it used the new “domino” switch, a variable capacitor made under a licence from Hopt (West Germany) and a good loudspeaker with a very low stray magnetic field [1]. It was a great commercial success: 900,000 were made in seven years, 1967–1973 [1]. The export version was the Overseas [1]; a table version on the same circuit was the Select T 68 [1].
Tehnoton in Iași also made it in 1974–1978 [2].
In the source table, sensitivity is given on medium waves for 50 mW output and a 20 dB signal-to-noise ratio, selectivity for a signal ±9 kHz (AM) or ±300 kHz (FM) away, and output power at no more than 10% distortion [1].
