Description

The Darclee S 622 A is a mains-powered tube radio receiver designed and made by Electronica in Bucharest in the first half of the 1960s [1]. It has the same circuit and characteristics as the Tomis S 621 A, with a built-in Supraphon record player fed from the 220 V winding of the mains transformer [1].

Darclee receivers were made until 1969 in several construction variants with the same basic circuit, among them the Darclée 2 S 631 A, Darclee 3 S 643 A and Darclee 4 S 641 A2 [1]. In June 1965 a Darclee receiver was the 2,000,000th Romanian radio to leave the assembly line [1].

The Darclee series, designed in 1962–1963, still accounted for most of the 170,000 tube sets among the 400,000 radios Electronica made in 1968 [2]. Its later types (Darclee 1–5) moved from point-to-point wiring to printed-circuit subassemblies for the RF, IF and audio stages and the FM block, and were also exported [2].

In the source table, sensitivity is given on medium waves for 0.5 W output, selectivity for a signal ±9 kHz (AM) or ±300 kHz (FM) away, the audio frequency response at 1 MHz within 6 dB, and output power at no more than 10% distortion [1].
