Description

The RIC 4 is a miniature radio receiver with a micro-earphone, made by Electronica in Bucharest [1]. It has an integrated circuit and a small built-in torch [1].

In 1983 Electronica launched the first Romanian popular miniature radios, the RIC 1, listened to through a micro-earphone; the set was appreciated by buyers and exported successfully to Czechoslovakia and the Netherlands [1]. The RIC 2 followed in 1985 with silicon transistors (the first generation had germanium transistors), together with the micro-earphones these sets needed; in 1987 came the RIC 3 and RIC 4, mono and stereo, with an integrated circuit and an extra function, a small torch [1].
