Description

The Dacia 2 E 59-663 is a black-and-white tube television set of Romanian design, of the Dacia–Intim series, made by Electronica in Bucharest, with a 59 cm, 110° picture tube [1]. It is derived from the Dacia E 59-662, from which it differs in appearance and in the line output stage; the characteristics and controls are the same [1]. The annex calls it Dacia II E 59 [1].

The Dacia–Intim series, developed quickly in 1965–1966 and approved in 1966, was a step forward in circuit and construction over the first Romanian-designed sets, the E 43 and E 47 [1]. It dropped their problematic solutions (the mains autotransformer, the PY82 vacuum rectifiers and the 6AL5 double diode) and took from international practice series-connected 0.3 A filaments and a single BY250 silicon rectifier for the anode supply [1]. It used 15 imported tubes (PCC189 and PCF801 in the turret tuner, two EF183 and an EF180 in the IF stages, PCL86 audio, PCL84 video, PCL85 vertical sweep, and ECC82, PL500, PY88 and DY96 for horizontal sweep and EHT), IPRS diodes, a new 8507 turret tuner and a new 9302 line transformer [1]. The series reached 380,000 sets; in 1967 it was made in several versions – Dacia E 59-662, Dacia 2 and Dacia 3 with 59 cm 110° picture tubes, and Intim E 47-671, Intim 2 E 47-672 and E 47 D with 47 cm tubes – all with the same components, the same chassis tilting about a horizontal axis and two printed-circuit boards [1].

Other models of the same group: Dacia E 59-662, Dacia 3 E 59-668, Intim E 47-671, Intim 2 E 47-672, E 47 D, E 47 E.

In the source table, video sensitivity is given for 6 V rms on the picture-tube cathode, the signal-to-noise ratio on the sound path, and the selectivity values are, in order, the rejection of the own sound carrier and of signals below and above the picture carrier (and, where given, of the IF and the image frequency); the audio response is at −3 dB [1].
