Description
The Test COM 232 C is an interface adapter, made by IEMI in Bucharest [1]. It is in IEMI’s 1988 range [1].
Annex III.2.10 describes it as a portable instrument for diagnosing, in the field, digital telecommunication interfaces built to the CCITT V.24 / RS-232C standards, used to troubleshoot DTE–DCE links and to show faults on the data line to the modem. It connected two devices through standard 25-pin connectors, could link higher-level protocol analysers actively or passively as well as an oscilloscope probe, and showed logic 1 (−12 … −3 V) on 10 lines and logic 0 (+3 … +12 V) on 5 lines [2].
